Team 11 is coming, but it won't be Andretti, will it?

Vine echipa 11, dar nu va fi Andretti, nu-i așa?

It seems that not the project, but a certain person was the reason why the Andretti F1 team failed to join the Formula 1 circus.

During the Las Vegas Grand Prix, several international publications reported that the agreement for the announcement of the new team was close. However, not in the form we had expected so far. It seems that Michael Andretti's strong promotion did not please many, but his withdrawal could pave the way for a new American team. There was also the possibility that one of his main supporters, Mohammed bin Sulayem, who is known for his bad relations with… everyone, had influenced the situation.

Now, however, it seems that General Motors has taken control, building on Andretti's existing infrastructure. And what is even more important is that they have a status accepted by the other participants in Formula 1. Their European center at Silverstone is already operational, the team of specialists is well formed, and according to the plans, Cadillac and Andretti would appear together, just with less emphasis.

Meanwhile, GM has already started working on its own F1 engine program, and according to rumors, their first functional power unit could be launched in 2028. So, at the 2026 debut, they could participate as a partner team, and Ferrari or Honda could be considered. It all sounds very interesting, and given the recent period, we are now closer than ever to the dream of having a new team in Formula 1 becoming a reality.
