Sebastian Vettel has made a statement in support of his former great rival. The German world champion believes that if anyone can, then Lewis Hamilton could get Ferrari out of a difficult situation they have been in for a long time.
Despite supporting his success on the track, he has failed to develop at Scuderia Ferrari because of Hamilton. But that doesn't bother Vettel:
"The truth is that we didn't succeed because Lewis had a better package with Mercedes at the time. We'll see how his collaboration with Ferrari went, but I support him wholeheartedly. We fought a lot against each other, over time we became good friends, and the skills and work he invested don't need to be proven to anyone. He is the most honest driver in current Formula 1, his results and records speak for themselves, and his influence is always used for positive purposes, that's why it's a joy that he is still part of the grid. I really want him to win the championship, but it won't be easy. There's Charles Leclerc, who is very talented, and the two of them form a very strong duo, but it doesn't just depend on them whether they have a chance at the championship title in the last races. Hopefully it will be tight, and with that everyone will win." - Sebastian Vettel mused.
