All of this was mentioned by the Dutch star's father, Jos Verstappen, who revealed that, as far as he knows, his son has a plan to step out of the F1 world championship for a year to try something else:
"He has an active contract with Red Bull Racing until 2028, but then nothing is set in stone. We'll see if he's still interested in F1 after that... So far, throughout his entire career, everyone has told him what to do and how to do it. Now he's getting to the point where he won't listen to anyone anymore, but will make his own decisions. He's sure that there's life outside of Formula 1, and that excites Max a lot."
"I think it's possible that he will retire for a year, try to express himself elsewhere and then come back. I don't know yet what will happen, but one thing is certain: he is not motivated to win seven or eight world titles, he is not chasing records, he is already satisfied with what he has achieved in his career so far in Formula 1," Verstappen's father made a rather interesting statement.
