Did you know that a driver who breaks the starting procedure is fined X amount, and another who swears is fined double that amount? Because of this, the drivers are collectively fed up with their advocacy organization!
The FIA has taken things too far recently, and it's not just the fans who are affected. The Drivers' Association led by George Russell has sent an open letter to the FIA president:
"We are professional drivers competing in Formula 1, the pinnacle of international motorsport. We are gladiators, we put on a special show for the fans every race weekend. When it comes to foul language, there is a huge difference between wanting to hurt someone and using uncontrolled words, for example, in relation to the weather, or when we make an uncontrolled remark about our inert car or a racing situation.
"We would therefore like to ask the FIA President, Mohamed Ben Sulayem, to consider his tone and language when speaking about us or with us, whether in a private conversation or a public forum. We are mature people who do not need to be coached by the media, let alone on such mundane matters as what to say or what not to say..." - said Russell and his colleagues.
