Yuki Tsunoda's situation, which seemed promising a few days ago, turned into a drama today, as Red Bull Racing openly declared that they would let him go.
This was said by Christian Horner, the leader, master and decision-maker of the Red Bull Racing team:
"We are fully aware that if we cannot offer Yuki Tsunoda an opportunity for advancement, then I don't really see the point in keeping him. We have failed to promote him to the senior team and we cannot afford to keep him in our junior team for many years. We have to let him go at some point to seek a better opportunity. Of course, we cannot completely rule out the possibility that he will have another chance for advancement, just as we cannot rule out that Racing Bulls will be more competitive than in previous years."
"I spoke to Yuki, he accepted this, he remained motivated, he wants to show that he will be the guy who can get the best out of RB. We will help technically, and next year they will also receive the rear suspension and gearbox. I hope the team will evolve, will reach maturity and things can change very quickly... For example, would anyone have thought that in less than a year Liam Lawson will be our driver in 2025? It's such a job, and he is aware of this, he knows that he has to show that he can be trusted." - said Christian Horner about Yuki Tsunoda.
If I were Tsunoda, I wouldn't even wait for tomorrow for this team...
