Disgusting politics: Schumacher cannot be an honorary citizen

Politică dezgustătoare: Schumacher nu poate fi cetățean de onoare

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

If it weren't for Michael Schumacher, probably no one in the world would be able to locate Kerpen on the map. But Schumacher exists, has existed and hopefully will continue to exist - this should only be understood by the city authorities, who are not willing to grant him the title of honorary citizen.

The problem is not new, both professionals and fans have long tried, through various methods of pressure, to obtain this recognition for the seven-time world champion. In vain... Local politics has once again taken a stand, like a Christmas surprise, and they could not have done it in a more disgusting way:

"There is no order of honor in Kerpen. The introduction of the order of honor and the title of associate honorary citizen is entirely the responsibility of the city council," said the mayor, Dieter Spürck, in connection with this topic.

"On March 19, 2024, the city unanimously decided to postpone the issue of awarding Michael Schumacher the title of honorary citizen. The factions and non-faction representatives must first vote in an inter-faction vote on whether to introduce such a title. Since then, no application has been received on this subject." - explained the leading "mayor" of Kerpen, whose colleagues added that "it currently makes no sense" and that "where does honorary citizenship begin and end" with comments...

There's no need to comment on all this, you know our opinion anyway.
