If it weren't for Michael Schumacher, probably no one in the world would be able to locate Kerpen on the map. But Schumacher exists, has existed and hopefully will continue to exist - this should only be understood by the city authorities, who are not willing to grant him the title of honorary citizen.
The problem is not new, both professionals and fans have long tried, through various methods of pressure, to obtain this recognition for the seven-time world champion. In vain... Local politics has once again taken a stand, like a Christmas surprise, and they could not have done it in a more disgusting way:
