Juan Pablo Montoya rarely speaks out, but when he does, there's always a good reason. Now is no different, he couldn't overlook the performance of former F1 driver Carlos Sainz.
But the situation Montoya spoke about is not unique, as Franco Collapinto, who exploded in Formula 1, plays a significant role in this context. The Colombian driver did not forget him in his statements:
"If I were Christian Horner or one of the Red Bull bosses now, I would go straight to Williams and tell them that if they are happy with Colapintó, then let them keep him and Sainz come to us. Francó would benefit if he did not immediately face such a big challenge as Max Verstappen. He could even be a bigger risk than Sergio Perez. The latter has experience, has race wins, knows the situation. However, let's remember what happened with Alexander Albon, how he crashed... And this is where Carlos Sainz comes in. It would be a challenge for Verstappen, a huge reinforcement in the constructors' battle, plus it would also have financial benefits.
"I, instead of Horner, would choose Sainz, not Collapintó," said Montoya, probably expressing the thoughts of many fans.
