While all existing portals dedicated to Formula 1 are wagging their tails like a Lewis Hamilton FAN SITE this week, Helmut Marko has come again, seen and said a wheel!
According to the Red Bull Racing veteran, it is obvious that, currently, Max Verstappen is the best on the F1 grid, and Lewis Hamilton is far from him:
"Let's look at 2024. Our car has often not been able to win, and in these moments Max has brought that extra bit of success. He became world champion because he simply finds 0.1-0.2 tenths of a second in places where no one else could. Yes, neither does Lewis Hamilton! Maybe he is still fast, but can he keep up with Max over a whole season? I doubt it. If he gets a great Ferrari, and we can only offer a mediocre Red Bull, Max will still be the winner of the two. So Max Verstappen will do his job, now it's our turn to give him a car with which he can not only occasionally but consistently win.
"Unfortunately, last season, this didn't work. There were times when we were the fastest, and then a week later there was none of that pace. We need to expand the operating range of the car, that's what we're working on," Helmut Marko gave an overview of the long-term plans.
