Mexican Grand Prix: Sainz achieved a beautiful victory

Marele Premiu al Mexicului: Sainz a obținut o frumoasă victorie

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

An exciting start and a brilliant first stage, then a boring race: in short, that's how the Mexican Grand Prix was, won by Carlos Sainz.

Max Verstappen had a fantastic start and took the lead, ahead of Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris. However, the Dutchman could not enjoy his situation much, because due to a serious accident of Yuki Tsunoda the safety car came out. Meanwhile, Sergio Perez also had a "fantastic" start, and the Mexican is becoming increasingly unable to find his position on the starting grid. So, the Red Bull driver gained a few positions in vain, because due to a penalty he immediately lost them. After five laps, the race could continue, and Sainz came and adjusted his pace, regaining the first position from Verstappen. The main driver of Red Bull Racing did not have a good race, because he got involved in a fight with Lando Norris and broke the rules against the Briton, which also led to a serious penalty.

Meanwhile, the Mercedes fought each other, and Fernando Alonso was forced to retire due to a technical failure in his anniversary race.
Sainz, Leclerc, Verstappen was the order then, but the last driver received a 20 (!!) second penalty, which meant that Red Bull withdrew from the fight for the constructors' championship. When the first pit stops were over, the intensity of the race decreased. The leading group stabilized, and from here on we saw only a monotonous race. Scuderia Ferrari, Lando Norris, Mercedes, that was the sequence, and we were already on lap 51, but in the last stage there was only one significant change of position.

Carlos Sainz took an easy victory, but Lando Norris came close, overtaking Charles Leclerc, who took the point for fastest lap. Let's just say it wasn't the best Mexican Grand Prix ever...
