After Saturday's unacceptable comedy, today the qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix was recovered, where Lando Norris obtained pole position.
In Q1, postponed to the second day, the conditions were almost identical to the previous ones. Thus, the first stage had a cautious character, with many skids and accidents. Franco Collapinto was the first to fall victim and crashed into the wall, causing a short red flag phase. These conditions were best read by Max Verstappen, Alexander Albon and George Russell, while those eliminated included, in addition to Collapinto, Lewis Hamilton, Oliver Bearman, Nico Hülkenberg and Zhou Guanyu.
We had barely reached the halfway point of Q2 when Carlos Sainz replicated Franco Colapinto's style, crashing the Ferrari almost in the same spot where his Argentinian teammate had crashed earlier. Another red flag followed... At the time, Oscar Piastri, George Russell and Lance Stroll were leading, but it was expected that with the installation of intermediate tires, this would not be the final order. Shortly after, Stroll's elimination triggered an avalanche, after which red flags followed one after another. Valtteri Bottas, the two Red Bulls, Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly also had to leave the competition, because, despite the time remaining, this stage was not restarted. All this was to the advantage of McLaren, especially for Norris...
Q3 became total chaos, first Alonso had an accident, then Albon destroyed the Williams, and in the end only seven remained in the top 10. In the last few clear minutes of qualifying, we could see continuous improvements, where the trio of Lando Norris, George Russell, Yuki Tsunoda proved to be the fastest.
