The weekend started badly for Scuderia Ferrari at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where the Reds are fighting for nothing less than the title of world constructors' champions.
In this race, they were already at a disadvantage, and still in double… While the driver suffered from food poisoning at the end-of-season dinner, his car's battery failed. It all started like a dream, as Charles Leclerc was able to take to the track with his brother, Arthur:
"It all started last night when I had food poisoning. I didn't sleep all night, I was extremely tired, I couldn't think about anything else but when I would finally be able to get to bed. The day started really hard... I didn't feel ready to get in the car at all, but I'm really motivated, we can go for a spin with Arthur. This was a dream come true, which is why our whole family came here, so I couldn't miss it."
When it was discovered that we had problems with the battery and that we had to change it, many things came to mind. First of all, that I could lose the opportunity to be on the track with my brother on a Formula 1 weekend. Then there is the constructors' championship… We have to start ten places back, so the weekend has become much harder. But overall I perceive it as a challenge! I already feel a little better, I rest at night and I will come back with charged batteries. What we need is a great day tomorrow and an incredible Sunday!” – said the unlucky Charles Leclerc.
