However, if he hadn't, it wouldn't really have been surprising. But he did, and that's why so many of us love him and are waiting for him to return to the competition!
Liam Lawson came to the opportunity to sign with Red Bull Racing at the expense of Daniel Ricciardo, and then won that contract. However, the latter was not at all envious about this, on the contrary. He behaved like a man and a true sportsman!
"I've talked to Daniel a lot before, and for the way he handled everything, I will always respect him a lot. From the beginning of the whole ordeal, from the first rumors to the confirmation that I would be taking his place, he never said a bad word about me or behind my back.
"He never perceived it as being about us, and he was right in that sense, because we don't decide our fate. It was up to the team, and he was extremely fair to me throughout. And when I managed to get the contract with Red Bull Racing, he was the first and only current or former driver to congratulate me on it. That says a lot about the kind of person he is!" - praised his colleague Lawson.
