"Despite his limited F1 experience, Liam Lawson has been the mentally strongest of our junior drivers. No one can beat Max Verstappen, that's a hard thing to accept. Lawson is capable of that and has a lot of potential to develop. Compared to Yuki Tsunoda, Yuki is definitely a faster driver, but he lacks these aspects. He makes unnecessary mistakes and crashes, has difficulty controlling his temper and, in such moments, usually 'slows down'. These factors give you an even bigger handicap in a team where on the other side of the pits is the reigning world champion.
All this would have been too much for Tsunoda, he would not have been able to emotionally process the fact that he is at a disadvantage, that he cannot win. From Lawson we expect him to be within three tenths in qualifying and racing compared to Verstappen. According to our calculations, this will be enough to collect an adequate number of points in the constructors' championship.
