Lewis Hamilton feels that after four races he has finally found harmony with his car, from now on everything will be different and the results will come.
Seven-time world champion, his difficulties with the red car are also due to the fact that mentally he has not yet "completely left" the Mercedes and its habits:
"It's now become clear to me that we are really capable of getting stuck in our habits. I drove one car for a very long time in one team, and now I've got into a new car, which requires a completely different driving style and settings.
For example, there is the engine brake, which works completely differently, the brakes work differently, we used a different type than at Scuderia Ferrari. Here we use Brembo, and at Mercedes I have been driving with Carbone Industrie for the last 15 years. This car requires a completely different driving style from me, so I have to adapt. And that is what I am doing, I am adapting and I think I am starting to feel how I have to drive this car.
Charles Leclerc, for example, finishes weekends with one set-up, while I try one after another, and that already puts me at a serious disadvantage. That's why my performance is fluctuating, I just have to do a better job and I will do that. At the moment, I'm making everything difficult for myself, but next race I'll try to start with a fresh page, start with one set-up and stick with it. I think I've realised what it takes to be competitive, and if I apply that, then I'll qualify better, and if I qualify better, I'll have a much better weekend!” - Lewis Hamilton stated positively.
