Pierre Gasly has come up with a rather surprising prediction. The French driver believes that the favorable alignment of the stars, as well as major rule changes in 2026, could allow Alpine to become a serious contender!
There is a common opinion in the paddock that one of the most important elements in 2026, the development of resources, is led by Mercedes, which has considerable experience in this area. Pierre Gasly knows this well, just as he knows that if someone manages to achieve outstanding results in the field of transmission, then he has a good chance in the final standings. And, from 2026, Mercedes will be the engine supplier for Alpine.
"I'm very curious about what's next, because 2026 will be a huge opportunity, when I could even win the world championship. Because of this, I'm preparing a lot for the next season. Don't get me wrong, in 2025 I'll do everything I can to be successful, but where I end up this year doesn't matter at all, I don't care. The team and I are aware of what we can achieve this year and what we can do next year, so we've already established the strategy we're following. As I said at the presentation in London, if I were to decide, right now I would allocate every member and every resource of ours to the 2026 program. Next year we want to fight for podiums and victories, that's our goal!" - the Frenchman declared firmly.
