The aim is to reduce overheating and allow better tire management for stronger stages on the tour. That is the goal.
The 2024 car, the SF-24, had a good relationship with the tyres in the races, but during qualifying the drivers struggled with grip and warm-up. This often resulted in Scuderia Ferrari having to start from the back of places that would normally be accessible through power, and the team led by Loic Serra focused heavily on this dilemma. The changes included in the design of the 677 are aimed at rewriting the fundamental behaviour of the Ferrari, and signs of this could be seen at the first scrutineering at Fiorano, which will take place on 19 February.
