Williams started its 2025 car, and Andrea Kimi Antonelli drove the first kilometers in the 2025 Mercedes in Spain.
Preparation is needed, because while Antonelli is perhaps the greatest rookie of all time (almost 30 races, with over 9000 km under his belt, according to his team), he has not looked at all convincing so far. At the private test, Mercedes used the 2020 W11 car with a camouflage paint scheme, and the fact that they have great confidence in Antonelli is highlighted by the fact that, since 2010, he could be the first rookie for the team.
The team sees him as a future world champion, even though he badly damaged his Mercedes on his "debut" in the first free practice session at the Italian Grand Prix. He has since driven the current race car again in Mexico and taken to the track in Abu Dhabi.
