Bernie Ecclestone, the former boss of Formula 1, has harshly criticized Lewis Hamilton. Ecclestone believes that it is not worth it for Hamilton to settle in Italy for a long time.
This may have "some connection" to the traditions of Scuderia Ferrari, Maranello is not the place where Hamilton is appreciated for his stupid celebrity-inspired gestures. Ecclestone believes this does not strengthen the Briton's position:
"His contract is until 2026, but it won't last that long. Piero Ferrari brought him there and he thinks he did the team a good job, I hope he doesn't regret the decision. I hope they don't say it would have been better not to do this... One part is age, another is competitiveness. I think with Lewis, he's actually a bit worn out, he's not as motivated as he used to be. If he didn't have any world titles, maybe the situation would be different, that would motivate him. But he already has seven. Another root of the problem is his past deeds.
"He's certainly done a lot of things that some people might find distasteful. I don't understand why someone would dress like that as a world champion and a millionaire, I don't like it at all, it's not appropriate. I don't understand why he keeps doing this nonsense... He's obviously a talented driver, but he's very overrated," Ecclestone harshly criticized Hamilton.
