We have reached the last race of the 2024 competitive season, which for many meant a farewell, for some a debut, and for others a world title.
The start was interesting, Max Verstappen entered extremely agile in the fight with Oscar Piastri, and with that momentum he took the Australian out of the race, but also himself... Meanwhile, the other Red Bull car, Sergio Perez, lost the duel with Valtteri Bottas and ended up off the track. A VSC phase followed, then Piastri solved the race of Franco Colapinto, who was unlucky to receive a defective tire. Meanwhile, in the lead were Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly, but this was the situation only until the pit stops.
Thanks to the different tactics, we could observe the order of Norris, Sainz, Russell, and we basically had a long marathon of uneventful laps. In the meantime, Valtteri Bottas had a flat tire and hit Kevin Magnussen again, who was also unlucky. Paradoxically, Bottas' race, which had been excellent throughout the weekend, ended in disgrace... The events after the start were not without consequences, Verstappen received ten seconds for his "action" against Piastri, while the latter also received ten seconds for the incident with Colapinto.
After Lewis Hamilton, the last to enter the pits, returned to the track, the screen showed the order Norris, Sainz, Leclerc. The fronts stabilized, Norris, the two Ferraris and the two Mercedes, and behind them Verstappen. Only in the middle of the pack were there small fights, overtaking on both sides, and in this last gray race, the performances of Gasly and Hülkenberg were the ones that attracted attention. And, of course, the victory of Lando Norris with McLaren, which brought the world title of constructors at the last moment, the podium of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, and, of course, the beautiful overtaking of Lewis Hamilton in the last round against George Russell.
